The hotel is located in cosmopolitan De Pijp neighbourhood and the Museum Quarter is an easy, scenic stroll from the hotel. Amsterdam’s hot spots are easily accessible via public transport or try the Dutch way and go by bike.

De Pijp area, in which the hotel is situated, is one of the friendliest areas in Amsterdam where lots of families live. Please do not worry about your safety at night. Just take the precautions you would normally take when visiting a busy city.

From Schiphol International Airport to the hotel will take approximately 15 minutes by car.



A shuttle runs from the airport to the hotel and vice versa. This service is operated by an outside company (Connexxion).

From the airport it departs every 20 minutes from 6.00 am to 9.00 pm.

From the hotel to the airport, reservations can be made with our Concierge Team via concierge@okura.nl at least two hours prior to departure.

The shuttle runs every 30 minutes from 6.45 am until 9.45 pm.

The costs are € 17 (one way) and € 27 (return).

Conference Level:

The conference presentations will be in Grand Ballroom. The exhibition, coffee break, lunch area will be in Heian Room and on the Foayers.


Hotel Restaurants, Bars/Lounges

Hotel Okura Amsterdam houses 4 restaurants which all have been awarded by Michelin. Restaurant Ciel Bleu offers views of the city from the 23rd floor and is awarded with 2 Michelin stars.

The Japanese restaurant Yamazato has 1 Michelin star and serves authentic Kaiseki cuisine. The chefs at the 1 Michelin star Teppanyaki Restaurant Sazanka prepare food on a hot griddle at your table.

Serre Restaurant, awarded with a Bib Gourmand, offers international dishes prepared with seasonal, fresh and local produce. An extensive European and Asian buffet breakfast is served at Le Camelia. Furthermore Hotel Okura In-Room Dining has it all.





Airport Information:

Schiphol International Airport (AMS) is approximately twenty kilometers and 20 minutes by car from the Hotel Okura. 


Taxi Cab Services:

Several taxi companies operate at the Schiphol International Airport: Taxi rates for a one-way transfer to the hotel cost approximately EUR 30-50 one way.

      Standard taxis are readily available at arrivals 

      Travel Taxis are ideal for groups of no more than 8 travellers - (In advance reservation required)

Business Taxis are also available advance reservation also required

UBER (the prices are more favorable)

Time:

Amsterdam is on Central European Time. Time difference is 1 hour to Greenwich Mean Time.

General temperature:

The temperature in September is mild, at daytime: 20 C, at morning and evening 10 C.

Attire:

Business casual clothing is suitable for the entire event.  However, some evening meals and functions that you choose to attend at your leisure in Amsterdam may require more appropriate clothing, including perhaps a dinner jacket. 

Also, we recommend you dress in layers as hotel meeting rooms tend to be too hot for some, while others are quite chilly.
